Associate Insurance Director

Our client, a regulated insurance and reinsurance organisation, is seeking a Senior Insurance Manager at Associate Director level. This position offers broad responsibility across underwriting, claims, finance, compliance, and risk. It suits someone who wants to lead teams, manage complex portfolios, and operate at a senior leadership level.
This is a hybrid role with flexibility built in.
 
Role Overview
You will act as a senior point of contact for a range of regulated insurance and reinsurance entities. The position involves leading service teams, managing complex reporting cycles, presenting to Boards, and supporting strategic development across the wider business. This role offers a mix of operational management and leadership responsibility.
 
Key Responsibilities
– Lead a client service team of five to seven people
– Oversee all insurance, claims, financial, and regulatory reporting requirements for client entities
– Prepare Board reports and present directly to Directors
– Coordinate and drive client projects to completion
– Identify solutions that support client needs and contribute to revenue growth
– Participate in senior leadership responsibilities including:
     – Talent development
     – Resource allocation and hiring planning
     – Systems and process improvements
     – Development of high performing teams
     – Delivery of business results and profitability
 
Candidate Profile
– Strong client management skills
– Relevant professional qualification in accounting, insurance, risk, or a related discipline
– Minimum eight years of experience within or supporting regulated insurance, reinsurance, captive management, or a similar financial services environment
– Strong understanding of financial reporting, regulatory requirements, and compliance frameworks
– Good knowledge of risk finance principles
– Skilled communicator and problem solver
– Proven experience leading or developing teams
– Strong commercial awareness
