A leading insurer is seeking a Casualty Claims Handler to manage a portfolio of liability claims, ensuring fair, efficient outcomes in line with policy and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage claims from notification through to settlement
  • Assess coverage, liability, and apply negligence principles
  • Investigate claims (reports, medical evidence, witnesses, experts)
  • Set reserves, control costs, and process payments
  • Liaise with brokers, policyholders, solicitors, and third parties
  • Negotiate settlements and manage external partners
  • Ensure accurate documentation and regulatory compliance

Claims Exposure

  • Public, Employers & Product Liability
  • Property damage and bodily injury

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in casualty/liability claims handling
  • Strong understanding of liability law and policy wordings
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple claims effectively

Requirements

  • Claims handling experience within insurance
  • Familiarity with claims systems and Microsoft Office
  • Insurance qualification (APA/CIP) desirable
