This is a customer-facing role responsible for managing a portfolio of accident, health, warranty, and property claims within defined service and technical standards. The role involves agreeing on claim settlements in line with policy terms and conditions, within delegated authority levels, and ensuring these settlements are conducted efficiently, accurately, and promptly. Where applicable, the role includes recovering outlays from third-party insurers.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing claims in accordance with authority levels and adhering to referral protocols.
- Working within the parameters of service standards or agreements with claims management organisations, such as third-party administrators or outsourcers.
- Identifying and addressing potential conflicts of interest in line with organisational policies and procedures.
- Investigating claim circumstances and gathering necessary information to make timely liability decisions.
- Managing external experts, including legal advisors and barristers, to ensure cost efficiency and effective guidance.
- Driving optimal claim settlements through portfolio strategy, case-specific tactics, commercial insight, and strong negotiation skills.
- Assisting with other duties as required to meet organisational needs.
