Financial Planner

Location:

Dublin 18

Job Type:

Permanent / Full Time

Sector:

Life and Pensions

Salary:

€55,000 - €65,000

A well-established Financial Advisory firm in South Dublin is looking to appoint a Financial Planner to take ownership of an existing, high-quality client book.
This is not a business development or new-business sales role. It is a relationship-led position for someone who wants to build long-term client partnerships and provide considered, ongoing financial advice.
The client base is well established and largely comprises self-employed professionals, company owners, and high-earning PAYE individuals, with a particular concentration in the medical and related sectors. Many clients have complex financial arrangements spanning pension planning, protection, and broader wealth management needs, and value continuity and depth of advice over transactional service.
This is a genuine opportunity to step into a book of business built on trust and long-standing relationships, and to grow it through quality of advice rather than volume of activity.
The Role

  • Take full ownership of an existing client portfolio, acting as the primary point of contact for financial planning needs
  • Conduct regular reviews of client circumstances, ensuring advice remains current, relevant, and aligned to changing personal and business needs
  • Provide technically sound advice across pension planning and protection, with a strong understanding of the specific needs of self-employed and company owner clients
  • Identify opportunities to grow the value of the client relationship organically, through genuine understanding of client needs rather than product-led selling
  • Work closely with clients in the medical and related professions, where earnings patterns, structures, and planning requirements often carry particular complexity
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all advice is delivered in line with regulatory and compliance standards
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the firm to ensure clients receive joined-up, consistent advice across all areas of their financial planning

The Candidate

  • QFA qualified as a minimum requirement; further qualifications such as APA, RPA, or progress toward CFP would be well regarded
  • Strong technical knowledge across pension and protection planning, with the ability to explain complex matters clearly to clients
  • Experience advising self-employed individuals, company owners, or high-earning professionals is advantageous, particularly within medical or related sectors
  • A relationship-first mindset. This role suits someone motivated by client outcomes and long-term trust, not short-term targets
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility across a range of client profiles
  • Comfortable working from the firm’s South Dublin office on a full-time, in-office basis

What’s on Offer
This role offers the rare combination of a quality, ready-made client book and the autonomy to manage and grow it in a way that reflects genuine financial planning best practice. For a planner who wants to move away from new-business pressure and instead focus on deepening relationships and delivering considered advice, this is a strong long-term opportunity within a firm that values quality over volume.
