Reporting to the Claims Director, the Head of PI Claims role aims to lead our client’s Personal Injury team, ensuring effective management of a portfolio of small and medium personal injury claims (portfolio of €210m) and successful delivery on our client’s Claims strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and engage high-performing teams through feedback, coaching, and compelling communication.
- Develop and deliver ROI PI strategies to ensure effective cost control and a commercial advantage over |competitors, including developing opponent-specific strategies for optimal settlement methods.
- Monitor key external changes to the claims environment, quantify the likely impact on claims costs, and make necessary changes in our client’s PI settlement plans to counteract any external changes.
- Cultivate a culture of responsibility and empower others to act, seeking opportunities for learning and development to deliver sustainable business performance.
- Collaborate with all three claims sites to maximise best practices and share learnings among similar sites.
- Representing our client on various external committees is crucial for understanding and influencing the PI environment in ROI.
- Develop key controls to ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements, including Solvency II, Our client Group Standards, and other external regulations impacting Personal Injury Claims.
- Manage customer experience to continuously improve and deliver excellence in our clients’ journeys.
- Identify and manage risk within the Claims area.
Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years’ experience of managing an injury function, with proven technical claims background with knowledge of relevant claims regulatory and legislative environment.
- Extensive practical experience of optimising performance, meeting deadlines/targets and achieving results in a similar environment.
- Strong overall leadership skills with a pragmatic, common sense attitude and positive approach to coaching & mentoring teams
- CIP essential and working to MDI/ACII/FCII beneficial
- Customer First orientated and adept at leveraging customer data and insights to meet customer needs
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships, influence at all levels throughout the organisation, especially ability to develop senior reciprocal relationships
- Strong project manager with excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload in order to deliver on objectives and to make deadlines.
- Experienced and competent negotiator, highly pragmatic with a hands-on approach to deliver solutions
- Strong analytical ability with ability to present data in a user-friendly way
