The Role
The Sales Manager will play a key role in shaping and delivering the sales strategy, leading a high-performing team, and driving sustainable revenue growth. This role combines people leadership, commercial oversight, and hands-on involvement in key client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with business objectives
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of sales professionals, building a strong performance culture
- Conduct regular pipeline reviews, forecasting, and performance tracking
- Analyse sales data and market trends to identify growth opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance the end-to-end customer journey
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of the sales team
- Manage senior client relationships and support complex or high-value negotiations
- Prepare and present sales performance reports to senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Use CRM systems to track activity, monitor performance, and generate insights
- Work closely with marketing to align campaigns and sales initiatives
- Stay informed on industry developments, competitor activity, and market conditions
Requirements
- Proven experience in a sales management role within insurance or financial services
- Strong knowledge of the Irish insurance market and regulatory environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and retain high-performing sales teams
- Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical capability with experience using MI to inform decisions
- APA qualification required, CIP preferred or actively working towards
- Commercially focused with a results-driven mindset
- Strong leadership presence with a people-first approach
- High levels of integrity and commitment to compliance
- Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
