The Senior Commercial Account Executive is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of high-value commercial insurance clients. This role involves developing tailored insurance solutions, providing strategic advice, and ensuring clients’ business risks are adequately covered. The position requires managing complex renewals, negotiating terms with insurers, and building long-term relationships with key clients. A strong understanding of commercial insurance products and the ability to drive business growth are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of high-value commercial insurance clients, providing expert advice on cover across various industries and sectors.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, acting as their trusted advisor on all insurance-related matters.
- Tailor and present insurance solutions, including property, liability, motor fleet, professional indemnity, and bespoke policies.
- Handle complex renewals, mid-term adjustments, and cancellations.
- Negotiate terms with insurers to secure the best coverage and pricing for clients.
- Identify opportunities for new business, upselling and cross-selling additional products where appropriate.
- Oversee and support the claims process, ensuring timely and efficient handling of complex claims.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions to proactively advise clients.
- Mentor and support junior account handlers and executives, providing guidance and oversight where needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Extensive experience in commercial insurance, ideally in a senior account management or executive role (minimum 5-7 years).
- Relevant insurance qualifications, such as the Diploma in Insurance (CII) or equivalent.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Proven track record of business development and growing client portfolios.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products and industry regulations.
- Proficiency in insurance management software and CRM systems.
- Excellent organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to manage relationships with high-value clients and insurers professionally and strategically.
