About the Role
We are working on behalf of a growing and ambitious life assurance business to appoint a Senior Actuarial Analyst who will play a central role in shaping and strengthening their actuarial capability. This is an opportunity to join a business where actuarial insight directly supports strategic growth and commercial decision making.
The position sits at the heart of the actuarial function and spans technical provisions and capital calculations, management reporting, and day to day trading support. The successful candidate will also contribute to the ongoing development of actuarial models and processes across the product suite, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver quarterly regulatory and financial reporting, including technical provisions, capital requirements, IFRS and Solvency II balance sheets, with clear analysis of movements.
- Prepare actuarial assumptions, inputs and reinsurance accounts, maintaining the tools and reports that support quarterly and annual submissions.
- Support regulatory change initiatives by assessing new requirements and embedding updates into reporting and valuation processes.
- Maintain, test and validate actuarial models using Prophet, ensuring outputs for Solvency II and IFRS meet governance and documentation standards.
- Run and oversee daily actuarial and trading processes, monitoring system performance and resolving data or policy related issues.
- Enhance and automate reporting and analysis using modern tools, delivering insight and strengthening data assurance across the business.
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience within life insurance and or investments, including regulatory reporting across multiple regimes.
- Strong financial analysis and coding background within financial services. Experience with Prophet is desirable.
- Proven ability to build tools using VBA, Python or similar languages, with a clear understanding of modelling best practice.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and communicate complex technical matters clearly.
- Experience delivering cross functional initiatives to tight timelines. Exposure to outsourced providers would be advantageous.
