Our client
Our client is a well-established, authorised Retail Intermediary operating within the Irish financial services and insurance sector. The compliance function sits at the heart of the business, with direct board-level visibility and reporting directly to the CEO.
 
The Opportunity
This is a PCF12-designated role. Supporting the day-to-day compliance operations of a small, experienced Insurance team. Reporting directly to the CEO on compliance matters, this is a high-visibility position with genuine scope and purpose.
 
The successful candidate will take ownership of the authorisation of an Insurance Intermediary entity, managing the full submission and approval process while ensuring the business remains aligned with all regulatory obligations throughout.
 
Key Responsibilities
Authorisation and Project Delivery

  • Lead and manage the Central Bank of Ireland authorisation process end-to-end
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements and documentation are met within agreed timelines
  • Support the alignment of business operations with authorisation expectations
  • Assist with outsourcing arrangements relating to a Northern Ireland scheme

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight

  • Maintain compliance oversight across AML/CTF, Consumer Protection Code, Fitness and Probity, Data Protection, and PSD2
  • Monitor regulatory developments and translate these into practical policies and procedures
  • Deliver and maintain the Compliance Monitoring Framework and Annual Compliance Plan
  • Manage the breach log and ensure remediation is tracked and evidenced

Governance and Reporting

  • Prepare compliance reports for the Leadership Team, Audit and Risk Committee, and Board
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory audits and investigations
  • Maintain all regulatory correspondence and documentation to a high standard

Risk Management

  • Maintain and update the Risk Register
  • Support the delivery of the Annual Risk Management Plan
  • Contribute to risk reporting and governance forums

Stakeholder and Operational Management

  • Manage relationships with external scheme providers
  • Identify process improvements and efficiencies within the authorisation function
  • Oversee complaints handling in line with regulatory requirements

Training and Culture

  • Deliver or coordinate compliance and risk training across the team
  • Ensure CPD requirements are met and maintained
  • Support a culture of strong governance, accountability, and regulatory awareness

 
The Candidate

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a compliance, regulatory, or risk-focused role within financial services or insurance
  • Previous experience supporting or leading a retail intermediary authorisation process is a distinct advantage
  • Strong working knowledge of the Central Bank of Ireland regulatory framework
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple workstreams to a deadline
  • Confident presenting to senior leadership and board-level audiences

 
Qualifications

  • Third-level qualification required
  • Professional Diploma in Compliance (LCI) or equivalent regulatory qualification preferred
