The Firm
Our client is a well-established, independent financial planning firm specialising in providing holistic, fee-based financial advice.
The firm works primarily with business owners, senior professionals and retirees, helping clients plan for retirement, manage tax exposure and structure their wealth effectively over the long term. They have developed a strong reputation within the Irish market for high-quality, independent advice and technical expertise across pensions, tax and retirement planning.
Operating as a boutique practice with a close-knit team, our client takes a highly personalised and relationship-led approach to financial planning. Continued growth has created an opportunity for an experienced Financial
Consultant to join the team.
The Role
This is a financial planning role focused on advice rather than product sales. There are no product sales requirements, individual sales targets or commission-based incentives.
The successful candidate will manage an established portfolio of high net worth clients, helping them make informed decisions around retirement, tax planning, wealth structuring and their wider financial affairs.
Working closely with senior members of the business, the Financial Consultant will take responsibility for ongoing relationships with existing clients while also supporting the onboarding and development of new client relationships.
This is a highly client-facing position built around trust, continuity and technical expertise, with the opportunity to develop long-term relationships and provide genuinely holistic financial advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of an established portfolio of high net worth clients, acting as their primary point of contact for ongoing financial planning and advice.
- Conduct regular client review meetings to assess changing circumstances, review progress against financial plans and adjust strategies where required.
- Manage the onboarding of new clients, including fact-finding, financial plan development and implementation.
- Provide holistic advice across pre and post-retirement planning, tax planning, estate planning and wealth extraction strategies.
- Advise on self-administered and self-invested pension structures where appropriate.
- Develop and utilise cash-flow models to support client decision-making and long-term financial planning.
- Work closely with senior colleagues to maintain a consistent approach and high standard of advice across the client portfolio.
- Maintain strong and current technical knowledge across pensions, taxation, retirement planning and relevant legislation.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience within financial advice or financial planning.
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation.
- Demonstrated experience using cash-flow modelling as part of the financial planning process.
- Strong technical knowledge across pre and post-retirement planning, taxation and estate planning.
- Familiarity with self-administered and self-invested pension arrangements is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing and developing relationships with high net worth clients.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex financial and technical information into clear, practical advice.
- A planning-led and client-focused approach, with a genuine interest in developing long-term advisory relationships.
What Makes This Role Different
The position offers an opportunity to focus on financial planning without the pressure of product sales or individual sales targets.
There is no requirement for business development or lead generation. Instead, the focus is on providing high-quality advice, developing trusted client relationships and delivering positive long-term financial outcomes.
For an experienced Financial Planner or Financial Consultant looking to move away from a sales-led environment and focus more heavily on technical planning and client advice, this represents an excellent opportunity to join an established and highly regarded practice.
