The Opportunity
This is a newly defined, senior leadership role sitting one level below the Chief Revenue Officer. The successful candidate will take ownership of the organisation’s relationships with its insurer panel and will be the driving force behind improving commission structures, pricing terms and overall value from the insurer supply chain.
To date, the business has made limited progress in shifting terms with its panel insurers. This role has been created to change that, bringing a more commercial, structured and relationship led approach to insurer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and develop relationships across the organisation’s insurer panel, including major composite insurers
- Lead negotiations on commission rates, pricing structures and discount terms, including pricing by age profile and risk segment
- Act as the key point of contact and subject matter expert on all insurer facing pricing and product matters
- Work closely with the internal pricing function, acting as the link between pricing needs and insurer negotiations
- Analyse trends across claims, retention and conversion, including tracking of business retained versus business placed elsewhere
- Take on line management of the existing product manager, who will report into this role
- Support the wider business transformation agenda where it intersects with insurer relationships, though this will not be a core part of the remit
- Maintain strong working knowledge of insurance products, exclusions, wordings and underwriting requirements
Candidate Profile
- Strong, demonstrable experience in insurer relationship management, gained either broker side or insurer side
- Deep knowledge of insurance products, exclusions, pricing structures and underwriting
- A track record of managing commercial negotiations with insurer partners
- Comfortable operating in a commercially focused, KPI driven environment
- Experience working alongside claims, pricing and underwriting teams
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at a senior level
What’s On Offer
- Base salary of €90,000 to €110,000, dependent on experience
- Company pension contribution of 5%
- Health insurance
- Annual leave starting at 24 days, dependent on experience
- Performance related bonus
- Mileage allowance
- A genuinely senior, newly created role with a clear mandate and direct line into the CEO’s leadership team
